Just a quick tip on where to place the overlap (green line) when dealing with CV or any lines starting with a consonant! When dealing with a harder consonant like g & k, you want the overlap to go before the consonant because harder consonants don't blend much with the sound before it. Softer consonants like m & w though, do blend with the note before it so the overlap should go around the start of the initial part of the consonant! Note to make sure you don't go too far in on softer consonants but as long as it's not more than halfway in on the consonant, it sound be good! If you don't know whether the consonant blends with the note before it, record it in a string & check the waveform! For example, if you need to know if b sounds blend, open Audacity & record "ba ba" to see. Above is a visual example of where to place the line and why. Along with a place on where the pre-utt/red line goes. Hopefully this helps you out, but of course feel free to ask questions or for advice! Link: CV/etc Overlap Placement
